SPEECH-LANGUAGE AND FEEDING THERAPY
We provide private, individualized and focused speech-language (please see the list of therapy types above) and feeding therapy sessions for your child. Our therapy methods are evidence-based and leverage the most up to date research in the field. Therapy sessions range from 30 -45 minutes depending on the age and needs of the child. After each session, parents are given strategies to use with kids at home to continue developing their speech-language skills.
Speech-Language evaluations
Our speech-language evaluations provide a full and detailed picture of your child’s speech-language development, and where they may need some help. Our evaluations are based on a comprehensive review of medical records, interviews with parent’s and teachers, first hand observations in a natural setting, and the results any testing done and include recommendations and treatment goals.
Lactation Counselor Services/BreastFeeding Classes
Giving birth is wonderful, but it can also be a stressful time as families navigate feeding and caring for baby. We provide breastfeeding classes to help families prepare for their breastfeeding journey. We also provide lactation sessions where an assessment of the baby’s oral musculature, latching, mom’s technique in feeding baby is done and a comprehensive treatment plan is made. In addition, Shavanne schedules follow up sessions and remains a text or call away if mom has questions.
feeding evaluations
Our feeding evaluations are conducted to get a holistic picture of the feeding issue. We assess to find out the type of feeding difficulty the child is having, contributing factors and how to address the difficulty. The evaluation includes a thorough assessment of the client’s oral motor skills, mealtime behavior, and other factors that may impact feeding. The interpretation of the findings form the basis of our recommendations and treatment goals.
flexible location and timing
We understand that it is difficult to carve time out of your busy day to commute with your newborn/child to your therapist. Also, children typically perform at their best when they are in a comfortable and familiar environment. This is why we offer both in-home therapy in addition to on-site therapy services. We are also happy to see your child outside of typical office hours.
